Geocache Description:

This cache is placed just off the Kettle Valley Railroad which forms part of the TransCanada trail in this area. I have included parking and trail head coordinates. Leave the KVR and head up the hillside along the creek to a nice peaceful spot. Please rehide the cache as well or better than you found it.

The cache is nearby is my Dad's memorial bench. My Dad had a long, full life. Among the many things he did, he was a logger, a large truck mechanic, a tow truck operation, a fireman, a fisherman, a hunter and a snowmobiler.

Some of my favorite recent memories are of Dad as a geocacher. He didn't have his own account but he delighted in assisting me on the hunt. He was determined, often continuing searching when I was ready to give up. And I'll happily admit, he often found caches before I did. I remember one cache, as I stopped along the trail to read the cache page, Dad just made an assumption that the cache was down the hill beside a good looking tree. By the time I looked up, he was on his way and I had to holler down the hill for him to come back up as the cache was just a little further along the trail.

Dad passed away last year and I really miss my geocaching partner. Please take a moment to sit on his memorial bench and say hi.
