Geocache Description:

Favorite points are such a good additional perk to Geocaching that we decided to make a challenge. Some people love them while others never even pay attention to them or seldom use them.

We are of the cachers that enjoy fav points for a variety of reasons. Always before we go out of town, we check the targeted area and see what is favorited and read some logs. If you haven't tried that, we highly suggest it as it will most likely take you to a beautiful area or a cache to forever remember. This is the main goal of this challenge. To get you to see the best, for whatever reason, and maybe give you an extra laugh to two along the way.

We also have other reasons to throw down a fav point. We may have had a great time with my kids ( have had a few of those) or our friends (a few of those too) on the journey. It may be a "one of a kind container" or it has taken to a majestic place or on a great hike. We especially love the history caches where time stands still and we take a little bit more home than before the cache. We like to use them to get others to our area if they are out of towners or to remember a memorial. The list is endless.

Congrats to The Ratts for the FTF!!!!!

Congrats to illinitrekker for 1143 total points!!!!!

NOW, HERE IS THE CHALLENGE.

-----Find AT LEAST 10 caches that when you add their fav points together, it gives you 250 fav points or more.

-----Of the 10 caches or more, 1 must be an Earthcache, 1 must be a Letterbox, 1 must be a Multi, and 1 must be an Unknown. After that, it is your choice

-----You must have one day where your favorite points total 60 or more.

This is all you need to do.

Sound hard? Not really. Some caches have been favorited 50, 100, 200 + times. But remember you have to get 10 caches. One could have 300 fav points so just go find 9 that have anything if you wish but you SHOULD go for the higher numbers. A shout out goes in the listing with the most points.

Now how to calculate these points:

No caches count before 4/22/2012.

Use the fav points the cache had the DATE of your find and log. Keep a running sum by making a bookmark and add your finds to it along the way.

ex. (GCxxxxx) Cache name fav points date type

When you are at 250, go get this cache, it is at the posted coordinates. But please don't cheat yourself along the way and miss out on some fantastic experiences. Tell us your favorite of the bunch and why if you'd like so we can put that one on our radar.

When you log this cache, either have your bookmark public or add them in your log for verification. Remember, use the date of your find as fav points fluctuate. They may have more or even less. It does happen.

Remember, you do not have to do it in 10 caches specifically. You must have AT LEAST 10. You can use more which is just more fun. You can add a point to help your total when you find it if the cache is deserving in your opinion. Don't just throw it down to help your total. We hope you have a good time on this adventure!!!!!

We have added two pictures to help find the cache as when we took the coords, the leaves were in full force. One picture is ground zero. The other is a tin shed with honeysuckle surrounding it. At the shed, turn right onto a deer trail (not the main trails) and go up the hill. You should walk right to it.
