Cache is located a short distance off a decent gravel road. Should be easy for most to get to. Please put cache back as you found it.
This is my first cache and I hope all who make the drive out can enjoy it. It’s family friendly and should be an easy find.
Near this sight during the summer of 1805, Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, accompanied by their “Corps of Discovery” expedition team, staged supplies after having struggled up the steep terrain from the river below. The Upper Portage Camp was several more miles from this site, a considerable distance to travel without horses or the modern convenience of a gas-powered vehicle.
Stroll around and read the informational placards, then take a break and sit a spell and enjoy the views. Maybe a Meadowlark will sing you a song, or a crowd of “muggles” in deer attire might wander by. After you’ve rested, head on up the road and take in Widow Coulee Wander or Widow’s Peak caches.
The container is a camo’d Lock and Lock with log book, pen, and room for trade items.
Congrats to SqueeknPete for his first, "First to Find"!
