A small cache at Rutherglen's disused railway station.
Rutherglen's railway station was used from 1879 to 1995, though passenger services ended in 1962. For a few years after 1995 a rail motor took tourists from Rutherglen to Wahgunyah, and there were plans to run services to join the main line at Springhurst. These plans never came to anything, and Rutherglen is now the southern terminus of the northern section of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail.
The silos are still used for grain, and the Lions Club uses the old station building.
The cache is a small container with room for log and pencil only. Please replace carefully!
Muggles alert! Search discreetly for this one as houses face the location and there may be walkers and cyclists about.
