Coir (coconut fiber) Biologs are an excellent way to protect your shoreline or stream bank from erosion, by providing superior protection from wave action and water velocity, as shown in this picture, and by providing an environment for the regrowth of native riparian zone plants. They are perfect for banks and shorelines with low wave action and for swamps or wetlands. Terrain rating is an easy walk due to a boardwalk in the area. The bio-logs were placed to maintain the natural swampy area, encourage plant growth and prevent runoff into the nearby creek.
