The Deliverator is crossing the Boulevard of the Metaverse at 192000 Km/h. When you are in the virtual world things like friction do not matter and crashing against an obstacle just means a sudden stop.
The only limitation here are your reflexes and the Deliverator has pretty good ones. Still, as long as you travel in a straight line you can go as fast as you want.
The Deliverator has a personalized avatar with a detailed face and full range of colors. He wields a couple of swords (like in the real world) and a black arachnofiber suit with a helmet.
The suit is for decoration, the swords are not.
The Deliverator needs to find the location of a dangerous Nam-Shub. He has been told a certain Clint will provide him with the hypercard. It sounds shady, but he is ready for any eventualities.
He passes his destination by a couple of hundred kilometers a few times but he manages to slow down enough to reach the house with precision.
The house is just a representation of a computer connected to the Metaverse. When everything around you is computer code, the quality of what you own depends on the level of your skill. This house is a very simple model, clearly a cheap pre-fabricated code sold usually by bulk. Fits perfectly with a Clint. It has no collision detection and the Deliverator just goes through the furniture as if it was made of air.
The owner is standing in the living room.
All Clints look the same, a perfectly sculped male body with muscles. Their faces do not move while speaking. The simplest avatar, mass-produced for kids with computers paid by their parents.
Without saying anything the Clint offers the Deliverator a hypercard. It contains a single image:
-That's it? What am I supposed to do with it?
The Clint does not answer. The computer he is using appears to not have a microphone. But it doesn't matter. The Deliverator has a flash of inspiration. With his right hand he activates the shortcut to his personal earth.
He makes a few adjustments and loads the coordinates directly into his car. He only needs to get there and pick up the Nam-shub...

L'Entregador atravesa el Bulevard del Metaverse a 192000 Km/h. Quan estàs en el món virtual coses com la fricció no importen i xocar contra un obstacle només comporta una parada sobtada.
L'única limitació son els teus reflexes, i l'Entregador en té de molt bons. Tot i així, mentre viatgis en línia recta pots anar tant ràpid com vulguis.
L'Entregador té un avatar personalitzat, amb una cara detallada i totes les tonalitats de colors. Porta un parell d'espases (com en el món real) i un vestit negre d'aracnofibra amb un casc.
El vestit és decoració, les espases no ho son.
L'Entregador necessita trobar la localització d'un perillós Nam-Shub. Li han dit que un cert Clint li proporcionarà una hypertarja. Sona dubtós, pero està preparat per a qualsevol eventualitat.
Pasa de la seva destinació per uns dos-cents kilometres uns quants cops però aconsegueix reduir la velocitat suficientment com per arribar a la casa amb precisió.
La casa es només la representació d'un ordinador connectat al Metaverse. Quan tot al teu voltant es codi d'ordinador, la qualitat del que tens depen del teu nivell d'habilitat. Aquesta casa és un model molt simple, clarament un codi barat prefabricat i venut a l'engrós. Encaixa perfectament amb un Clint. No té detecció de col•lisions i l'Entregador atravessa els mobles com si estiguessin fets d'aire.
El propietari es troba dret a la sala d'estar.
Tots els Clints tenen el mateix aspecte, un cos masculí perfectament escolpit amb muscles. Les seves cares no es mouen quan parlen. L'avatar més simple, produït per a nens amb ordinadors pagats pels seus pares.
Sense dir res el Clint ofereix a l'Entregador una hypertarja. Conté una única imatge:
-Això és tot? Què se suposa que he de fer amb això?
El Clint no contesta. L'ordinador que utilitza sembla no tenir micròfon. Però no importa. L'Entregador té un flash d'inspiració. Amb la seva ma dreta activa la seva terra personal.
Fa uns quants ajustaments, i carrega les coordenades directament al seu cotxe. Només necessita arribar allà i recollir el Nam-Shub...
