Geocache Description:

Lunesdale Caching: A short series exploring the delights along the old road through Kelleth to the 'source' of the River Lune.

The hamlet of Kelleth is the largest collection of buildings on this north side.  An old track runs down to the river where a handy bridge crosses the mighty Lune.  Of course the river is but a shadow of what it will become by the time it reaches Lancaster.

Can park car close to the small 'green' as you arrive in Kelleth.  Maybe just a bit on the edge of grass, but try not to damage anything!  Don't block any entrances to the farms and buildings by the post box.  A bridleway is just past the post box on the right and goes down to the bridge over the Lune. Quite a good spot to swim your dog! Quite a rocky path which is a stream on wet days. Cache is no longer down by the bridge as it was originally.

Cache is on the small green and is a drive by. Remember to visit the post box for the multi-cache info which is the last one of this series: Lunesdale 6.

For a superb 'book' all about the Lune catchment, from source to sea, check out this great pdf "The Land of the Lune" by John Self, really informative.

Onto cache No.3
