No longer private property; now owned by the forest preserve. "No Trespassing" signs remain from when this was a private residence and may safely be ignored. There is now a gate at the end of the drive.
May be approached from two different directions. You may drive here (making the terrain a 1.5) OR hike from the main parking lot at the Jarrett Prairie Center--just over 1/2 mile on a nice trail with a few other caches on the way. If you drive, look for a sign that you are headed in the right direction; it should be pretty obvious. This parcel was purchased by the Byron Forest Preserve to connect the main property to our adjacent Nardi property. The house has been converted into a picnic shelter for hikers, runners, and skiers. ***Congratulations rperchen FTF!***
