Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden in an area where you can get a good view of the Manfeild Raceway from the Kowhai Park to Kitchener Park walkway.

The Manfeild Raceway was built by the Manawatu Car Club in 1973 as a purpose built course. In 1990 extra land was acquired and the circuit extension built, bringing Manfeild up to international standards (however this ended up being a major stuff up as they did not put any or enough camber on the new track to make it race worthy).

Manfeild Raceway does not only play host to motorsport events, it also caters for activities such as Central Districts Field Days, Fireworks Spectacular, NZ Secondary School Cycling, Corporate Days, Car and Motorcycle Launches and Driver Training.

This walkway is closed during weekends where the are national race meetings such at the NZV8's and Super Tourers. I am guessing this only applies to maybe 3 or 4 weeks of the year.

Please ensure that this cache is well hidden before you leave as this track is well used. Thanks.
