TO MY FELLOW CACHERS
THANK YOU!
On December 29, 2011 my world was turned upside down when I was told that I might have lung cancer. Over the next two and a half months I hit some very low lows (told I was probably already terminal and to get my affairs in order) to some very high highs (maybe this is not cancer after all) and everything in between. I had surgery on March 15, 2012 to remove half of my left lung and on April 4th it was confirmed to be cancer. I am now preparing for the next stage in my recovery.
As word of my condition spread through the geocaching community I found myself surrounded by many guardian angels and true friends. I am truly amazed at the kindness and support I received from so many fellow cachers. I am so deeply grateful to each and every one of you.
t@bbywmn who was there from Day 1 and kept me from totally falling apart during those first few days that were more traumatic than they ever should have been.
PhilatSea and Rumrunner1 who whisked me off to California for a few days to forget my troubles. It was a fabulous 4 days and I will forever be indebted to both of them for their kindness.
Bobsmyuncle who has been a good friend to me and is a great puzzle solving buddy.
Oldfunseekers who offered to clean my house, cook my meals and take me wherever I needed to go. They were also my emergency lifeline should I have dared not to answer the phone. Luckily we never had to put that to the test.
tite lines who set up a hike for us girls and letting me know they would be there for me no matter what. Also for a nice tribute puzzle cache that I have solved but not yet found.
vmclaren and pnwbrat for their connections to the big guy upstairs.
mcwilli and Rumrunner1 for trying to set up an event in my hospital room and for placing a cache under my hospital bed. The event may not have taken place but Cache Bonus was the FTF me and I had a steady stream of cachers visiting and signing the log book.
Loops1234 (my sister) for keeping everyone updated as to my daily condition and for keeping the details of my hallucinations about fellow cachers a secret. Hmmmmm!
Frisbee Team for loaning me a treadmill and vmclaren for helping him deliver it to my house. My doctor said the treadmill is one of the main reasons I have recovered so quickly and so well.
AND to the too numerous to mention list of other cachers that sent cards, flowers, food, emails and good wishes.
Thank you!
I will be eternally grateful to each and every one of you.
When you log your find please make a note of what YOU are grateful for.
