Shopping on the Old Sauk Trail Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: As there's been no response from the cache owner to my previous note, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that geocaches archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Small bottle, with a log and some small toys. BYOP and beware of muggles.

The cache is along US 12 which started out as the Native American built Sauk Trail. The not so native Americans realized about 1824 that canons and army wagons don’t do well on trails so they passed the General Survey Act to build new roads. About a third of the $425,000 went into converting the old trail into the Chicago Road. They started in Detroit and completed the road in Chicago in 1835.

Over the years a lot has changed on this old road. Now there is a new cache for you to find.
