Who Knew??!! Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

BrianDiane: Not too surprising that this locale has suffered some deterioration over the years. It was never intended to present a significant bushwhack, so time to say goodbye. Mapsit and The Burrow may turn their "frownies" the other way up.

Geocache Description:

I yelped out the cache’s name, a common geocacher’s cry, upon once again finding a totally delightful and surprisingly unknown location so close to home. There used to be an egg-based cache near here, and I’m amazed none has replaced it and none has been placed further along this kilometer-plus public trail.

From the posted coordinates head down the hill and park a bit back from the “No Parking” signs (say “Hi” to Nick if he happens to be fishing driftwood from the river to fuel his nearby cottage). At the first waypoint, N45 19.276 W75 41.670, you’ll spy two, very long utilitarian structures.

The utilitarian structure you can see in the middle distance to the west contains a number of multi-faceted abutments. Call the number of abutments “A” and the total number of facets facing upstream “B.”

The other utilitarian structure is much closer - literally underfoot. Pace off its length in meters and call this “C” [NOTE: the terrain rating is intended to forewarn those with vertigo, although you can do this cache without actually pacing off this length].

Continue to a spot half of C meters further along the trail, where you’ll find a number of intended openings. Call this number “D.”

Proceed another 30 X D meters along the trail, where’ll you encounter a very large, somewhat lopsided, letter. Convert this letter to a foreign number and call its numeric value “E.” Upon this very large letter is attached a plastic number. Call this “F.”

Stroll a further (3 X E) + (16 X F) meters and you’ll be at another very large letter – one very familiar to trail hikers. Call this letter “G.” Convert this letter to a number and call that number “H.”

Stride about H + (2 X A) – B meters along a bearing you’d read as (G-6)(G+3) on a magnetic compass and you’ll arrive at a large tree, or the remnants of a large tree. From here do three projections to find the next three waypoints:
- 107 m. along a bearing of 248 degrees T.
- 129 m. along a bearing of 250 degrees T.
- 131 m. along a bearing of 248 degrees T.

At each of these three waypoints you’ll find a readily identifiable transportation item. Identify the common, one-word name of the producer of each item and call the sum of the number of letters in these three names “J.”

Retrace your steps for a total of approximately 28 X J meters, and look to your left for yet another transportation item [NOTE: Pay particular attention to the producer and approximate vintage of this item!]. Call the number of thousand kilometers this transportation item has travelled “K.”

The cache is located at N45 19.(J + K +182) and W075 41.(J + K + 537).
