Geocache Description:

Here’s another Cowboy Trail Cache near a dying form of summer entertainment.

Not many of these left operating, when doing a little research, only found 2 in Nebraska still in operation. The ones out of operation and left standing, age and storms have taken their toll on them as seen with this one.  Information I found said Pinview opened in 1954 and had 275 car capacity and closed around 1995. That would have been a bunch of cars when they had a full house!! My family has been coming to Long Pine almost every summer for over 30 years to tube in Pine Creek and have summer 2012 planned already! I remember seeing movies playing here when we left in the evening to go home and wish we’d have stopped and taken in a movie!! Of the two still in operation, one is in Neligh, TK drive in (formerly the Starlight) only 97 miles to the East, the other is Sandhills Drive-in, in Alliance 218 miles to the West.

Please post in your log the last time you went to a drive-in movie if ever and where. Last time we went was summer of 2011 in Neligh, saw Cars 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean.

No need to cross any fences or enter the property.
Use common sense when parking, plenty of room to pull off and remember to bring your pencil.

Congrats to _James Bridger_ for FTF!
