Geocache Description:

Small lock-lock cache in a huge cypress stump from a long-ago cutting.

Postpile and I were randomly walking the wetlands of the Hillsborough River when we came across an area with a bunch of really big cypress cuttings. This one called out for a cache.

Postpile suggested perhaps somewhere else - we had scared up alligators, sunk in muck up to our ...well very deep! ... and at least I was pretty tuckered out from the exertion when we got here. But the stump was cool (as were the many others nearby) and I thought it worthy of a cache. "But if you put it here I'll have to come out again and get it - and this is a tough spot" whined Postpile...

This is going to be a good hike no matter what - by land this is probably easiest to get to from the south side of big pine island. By kayak...well your gonna get muddy cause this is not all that close even though the map makes it look so.

This cache itself is head high behind some vines in the big cypress tree cutting at the GZ. It is a smallish lock lock (one of IK's we found in another cache a couple miles away).

While I doubt you can keep your feet dry getting here (not a challenge) but if you manage that I'm keen to know how/when you did it.
