This geocache is dedicated to the good folks who oversee New Jersey's highest and Northernmost State Park, High Point State Park. No, they don't really dress or talk like Ranger Smith from Yogi Bear, but special thanks go to the High Point Superintendent who suggested this placement location.
This cache will take you on a pleasant walk along more than one trail in HPSP. Begin at the parking coordinates and hike to the posted coordinates for this geocache. You'll not find any geocache container placed there, but once you arrive at the posted coordinates you will find yourself at a hiker's version of a busy intersection.
To get the final coordinates, you'll have to observe two easy things at this junction of trails. First, how many different colors of trailblazes are visible from here? Second, look for the two High Point State Park trail signs easily visible from here, almost facing each other. Each one has a set of icons designating permitted uses - how many of these icons do the two signs have in common?
To get to the final coordinates, project a waypoint as follows...
BEARING (true North): 50 times the number of colors plus 58;
DISTANCE (in feet): 72 times the number of common icons plus 9. It's recommended that you turn left at this intersection from the way you came.
As inferred above, this cache placement is with the permission of the High Point State Park Superintendent.
