Geocache Description:

Safe place to pull off SR14 for a great view of John Day Dam and the Columbia River. Do not cross the fence line.

Part of my stations along the old SPS RR line series between Vancouver and Pasco, WA now operated by the BNSF RR Company. Cliffs was the original division point until 1910 when it was moved to Wishram(Fallbridge). It was located below the dam at the base of the cliffs to the southwest. Stock pens for the shipment of cattle were located here. In 1970 a 1.6 mile spur was added here to service the new aluminum plant which opened that year.
