I can't find any recent responses from Tom.dog about maintaining this cache which makes it appear they are either unwilling or unable to maintain this geocache. Cache maintenance includes: replacing broken or missing containers, replacing full or wet logs, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing the needs maintenance attributes, enabling the listing, and more. Geocache Description:

Military aircraft series.

Some may recognize the cache name. This was one of the five caches placed in the South Woodmoor open space. The container is different to fit the new location.

Douglas SBD Dauntless

Type: Two seat carrier based scout and dive bomber

Powerplant: One 1,200-hp. Wright R-1820-60 Cyclone air cooled radial piston engine

Maximum speed: 254 M.P.H. at 10,000 ft.

Initial climb rate: 1,700 F.P.M.

Range: 453 miles on a bombing mission; 771 miles on a scouting mission

Service ceiling: 24,275 ft.

Armament: Two .50 cal. fixed machine guns in the nose and two .30 cal. manually aimed machine guns in the rear crewman’s position, plus up to 1,600 lb. of bombs under the fuselage and 650 lb. of bombs under the wings

Dimensions:
Wingspan: 42 ft.
Length: 33 ft.
Height: 14 ft.
Wing area: 325 sq. ft.
