Geocache Description:

This is a CHALLENGE cache! The cache is at the posted coordinates, but you must meet one of the additional requirements below before you can log this as a find.

Cache In Trash Out (“CITO”) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Usually, it involves a one-time, volunteer event dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places to help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. Events are focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, revegetation efforts, or building trails. Together, we geocachers can make an enormous, positive impact.

In celebration and recognition of the 10th Annual CITO Weekend of April 21st and 22nd, 2012, I thought it would be fun to present a CITO Challenge. This challenge is all about giving back to the game you love.

The Challenge:

To log this cache, you must either: (1) attend 5 CITO events, or (2) "CITO" (remove) at least 5 archived caches of yours. Let’s clean up our trash and set a great example!

The Rules:

  • Just like any other challenge cache, you must find the cache, sign its log, and meet the challenge requirement before you can claim a find.

  • Even if you do not meet the challenge requirement yet, feel free to visit the cache and sign the log and/or post a note at any time.

  • If you have attended 5 or more CITO events, please note this in your log, and I will check your statistics to verify that you met the challenge.(Per the new Challenge cache requirements, I cannot list hosting a CITO event as a requirement, but if you host a legitimate one, credit will be given to you as it should!)

  • If you choose to "CITO" (remove) at least 5 archived caches of yours to meet the challenge requirement, your log must list the caches removed, referencing the GC numbers and dates, and you must post notes on the archived cache pages that the cache has been removed.

  • Per the new Challenge cache requirements, there are no date restrictions to these requirements. All prior CITO activities do count, and you may have already met the challenge!

  • Most importantly: Have fun while doing your good deeds!

Bonus points, accolades, and the title “Environmental Champion” for the individual who participates in the most CITO activities! Who will it be?
