Geocache Description:

The M4 "Sherman", formerly Medium tank M4, was the primary tank used by the United States military and its allies during WW2. In the United Kingdom, the M4 was named after Union General William Tecumseh Sherman, following the British practice of naming their American-built tanks after famous American Civil War generals. Subsequently, the British name found its way into common use in the U.S.

The M-4 Sherman Medium Tank use continued through World War II, on into the Korean War and beyond as a vehicle for United Nations forces.
Specifications for the M-4 Sherman Medium Tank:

Country: United States of America

The "Sherman" was not always the biggest tank on the battlefield, nor did it have the largest main gun. It did however have reliability, ease of manufacture, maneuverability, and shear numbers in the field to make up for these "shortcomings". It was a tank respected by both friend and foe alike.

As you search for this cache, imagine what it would be like to be part of the 5 man crew. Appreciate what all those in the military (and their families) sacrifice for our freedom.

There is NO need to climb onto the tank . the container is no higher than 5 Ft above the ground.
