Geocache Description:

Are you ready for another 15 minutes of crazy fun? Well, the world famous Guam Geocachers are participating in the World Wide Flash Mob Event. The information is as follows:

WWFM EVENT IX GUAM - HULA, HULA

Saturday, June 9, 2012

10:00 am - 10:15 am (Only 15 minutes!)

Two Lover's Point

This is one in a Series of World Wide Flash Mob Events that will occur simultaneously on June 9, 2012. It is a gathering of Geocachers, their families and friends.

This event will only be 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign the log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

About the Event

This event is in conjunction with dozens of other World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events that will be held simultaneously around the world. Come be a part of a worldwide caching event, with potentially thousands of participants!

You've heard of mega-events? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways. The event will last exactly 15 minutes, not one second longer. The event will begin PRECISELY at 10:00 am Guam Standard Time (by using the clock on GPS receivers) on Saturday, June 9, 2012.

The event will be held at Two Lover's Point. Our theme this year will be "Hula, Hula" so bring your own sarong, lava lava, pareau, or hula skirt. We'll provide the leis. You can view the dance by clicking here. We won't be doing the part that begins with "For every grain of sand...", only "Pearly Shells". Also, we won't be sitting or doing the super fast part at the end. It would be great if you practiced a bit before the event!

9:45 - 9:58 am - Meet near the pavilion on the right side of the park (near the restrooms) to put on your skirts and leis. Don't go to ground zero (above coordinates)

9:58 am - Head to ground zero in front of the old Two Lover's statue! As you head to ground zero, the ukulele and guitar will begin to play the song "Pearly Shells".

10:00 am - Everyone will begin dancing the hula in front of the Two Lover's statue. We'll repeat the song twice and immediately leave the area and quickly assemble back at the nearby pavilion.

10:05 am - Everyone will sign the log sheet and receive a raffle ticket. Mix and Mingle with other cachers! A cache bucket will be out with trades. Remember, take an item - leave an item!

10:08 am - The event "meal" and "drinks" will be served.

10:10 am - Drawing for prizes and FTF honors.

10:12 am - Assemble for and take group photo.

10:14 am - One minute warning is called "It is now 10:14!" Clean up and prepare to leave the area.

10:15 am - LEAVE the area!

If everything goes right we will have a "mob" of hula dancers come together, dance for the tourists and visitors, and then disappearing. This could be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows.

Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 10:15 am. Afterwards, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of caching. We just ask that these arrangements be done away from the event area.

We are looking for a volunteer who has a digital video camera to record this event as well as a person to take pictures. Please let me know if you can assist with this.

Let us know if you will be attending by going to "Log Your Visit" in the upper right-hand corner of this page. Under "Type of Log", select "Will Attend". In your comments, please include the number of people who will be attending.

PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN TO SEE IF THERE ARE UPDATES FOR THIS EVENT. You may want to include this on your watchlist to receive any updates that are posted. We look forward to seeing you there!
