There once was a cache at this location that was one of our favorites. Needless to say it fell into disrepair and was archived. This is a newer, SNAP-version of the older cache. Permission was obtained from the ferry operator for placement of this cache.
This location is one of our favorites not because the cache is so great but in driving to this location you might see just about anything!!! Depending on the time of year you may see snakes, rabbits, deer, bear or just about any type of wildlife known to be in this part of the country.
You can get here from the North by getting off of Rt 258. Coming from the South you get off of Rt 158 near Rt 13. The pavement will end shortly and you will containue down a gravel road to an FREE single car, cable driven ferry ran by the State of North Carolina. Please remember to check the signs for ferry hours.
