Loch Valley Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is a small click lock box with a notepad and pen. It is located above the shores of Loch Valley. Loch Valley is a popular spot for fishing and there are superb views of Snibe Hill, Craignaw and Dungeon Hill from this spot (on a clear day!). To reach this cache park at the Bruce's Stone car park. You have a choice of routes - you can either take the tourist route up the Merrick and come down via Loch Enoch and Loch Neldricken (another cache there) or take the route 7 cycle track to the Loch Valley/Gairland Burn sign post and follow the track up to Loch Valley. Either way you should take a map and compass and waterproof clothing and sturdy and waterprrof footwear as the route is very damp underfoot all year round. Be prepared for rock and bog hopping. The path can be indistinct in places. Please follow the countryside code. You can also get the cache Bird's Eye View of Loch Trool on your route. Near to Loch Valley there are several tracks (take the higher one). Congratulations to Biffo69 for FTF
