21st Epping Forest South Scouts (012) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

Reservoir Woods was planted in 1815 to Humphrey Repton's design after the abandonment of the Reservoir from which it takes its name.

This small wood, part of Epping Forest, is bounded by Wanstead Golf course to the north and Woodlands Avenue to the south.

Don't miss seeing the Repton Oak, one of the wood's finest trees. It is said to have been planted in about 1815 under the guidance of Sir Humphrey Repton himself. The technique was to plant several small trees together in the same hole so that eventually the trunks fused together. Something like 9 fused trunks can be counted. The tree is almost impossible to miss if the main track from Blake Hall Road eastwards through the length of the wood is taken.

Terrain is variable and can be a bit muddy on the approach from some directions.

You will have a view of the eleventh tee when you're close. The cache is not in plain sight.
