Geocache Description:

Sherlock Holmes: The Frog of Valley Park -SH:TFoVP

The people of Valley Park are facing an almost supernatural Frog that has been haunting the area for ages. If you get near the moor you will certainly hear the sound of The Frog, and perhaps many of its offspring. Beware, since the moor is not a safe place to be in the dark.

Dr. James Greenwater called upon Sherlock Holmes to ask for advice in the wake of the apparent death of his friend Sir Charles Basketcase of Valley Park. Sir Charles had gone for a walk on the moor one night, and turned up missing. Holmes had questioned some of the residents and found out about The Frog of Valley Park, a centuries old curse that claimed that a large Frog haunts the moor. Mr. Holmes is too busy to travel to America, so he is asking for help.

Dr. Watson was sent to America to search the moor and was given instructions. He would search the moor with his faithful dog, Bluebell. But Dr. Watson has also turned up missing – out walking late on the moor. So it is now up to you to see if you can help out. If you go there and hear the sound of the frog beware … and do not go alone.

After searching Dr. Watson’s hotel room you find these instructions. Go to the location given as WP1 on this cache page. There you will find something with a 7 digit number. Let these seven digits be ABCDEFG. The secret resting place of The Frog of Valley Park is said to be near N 38° 33.000 W 090° 28.000.

X will be the three digit number DEF.
Y will be the three digit number (G-1)C(B+1)

If A is odd, add X to the decimal minutes of the North coordinate to get N 38° 33.DEF, and if A is even subtract X from the decimal minutes of the North coordinate N 38° 33.000.

If G is odd, add Y to the decimal minutes of the West coordinate to get W 090° 28.(G-1)C(B+1), and if G is even subtract Y from the decimal minutes of the West coordinate W 090° 28.000.

This is where you will find the lair of The Frog of Valley Park. Whatever you do, you must not be out on the moor at night.

You are looking for a tag, and then a small pill bottle.

Good luck and happy caching.
