Geocache Description:

35mm Film Canister size. Log Only, BYO Pen.

This small series of caches placed within the Enfield State Forest, just south of Ballarat has been put together in honour of several local Ballarat Caching Teams. Some were active when we started caching in late 2006, some are new since then. Some have moved away from Ballarat over that time, but the majority are still relatively local. Some are not so active now, but I consider they are still worthy of a cache in their team name. Each and everyone of these teams has given something back to the hobby they love – Geocaching! And without them, the sport of Caching does not go on.
We were so excited about placing our very first hide 6 months after we discovered caching. After all, we had the huge tally of about 40 finds under our belt. (We considered ourselves to be veterans with 40 back then). Mind you that was also back in the days of the Manual entry GPS’s, none of this hi-tech paperless GPS’s, that we all have now. Anyway, we wanted to give something back, back to the people and the sport that had given us so much pleasure and enjoyment - Giving others an opportunity to gain another Smiley. It only seemed fair, to return the favour. So our first cache was published in mid 2007, and it’s still going today.
This Series is two-fold. It allows me to give something back to all of you yet again, and it honors these local teams who have also given back to the Caching Community. A big Thankyou to all of you, wether you’re still active or not, your caches are still out there, most of them locally or within Central Highlands, one or two I know of that are owned by locals, but placed interstate. Wherever they are, they’re still being maintained, and you’ve not only given us a yellow smiley on GC.com, but likewise a smile on our faces as we’ve found and logged your hides over the years. And a Big Thankyou also, to all other cachers, the world over, that has also given back to our hobby.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting all these teams, a few albeit, only briefly at a Local Event quite a few years back now. My personal thanks to all of you. I’ve done some, if not all of your caches. Thankyou for keeping the sport we love alive. Thanks for some of the most ingenious well thought out caches, puzzles and multis, and even a web cam cache (which we’ve still never done ). Some very unique hides over the years, some I’ve never seen repeated ever again, anywhere.
Most of the tracks in the series will accommodate a 2WD in summer, when the roads are dry. Winter and wet tracks would probably not be a good idea for 2WD.

To the tune and words of ABBA’s Thankyou for the Music:
Thank you for the caches, the ones we’re all finding
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without them, I ask in all honesty?
What would life be?
Without a trad or multi what are we?
So I say thank you for the caches
