The Bridge of Khazad-dûm also known as Durin's Bridge runs over the giant mine pit in Moria in J.R.R. Tolkien's book 'The Lord of the Rings'.
The Bridge was originally designed by the dwarves as a choke point to force invading enemies to concentrate in one area, thus allowing for much easier kills.
"Suddenly Frodo saw before him a black chasm. At the end of the hall, the floor vanished and fell to an unknown depth. The outer door could only be reached by a slender bridge of stone, without kerb or rail, that spanned the chasm with one curving spring of fifty feet....They could only pass across it single file. At the brink Gandalf halted and the others came up in a pack behind."
—The Bridge of Khazad-dûm
The posted co-ordinates will take you to the Bridge. The Dwarves were kind enough to number this bridge ... it is marked in black numbers on a white sign.
This number will be aaaa.
You will also need to know the year that the Fellowship crossed The Bridge of Khazad-dûm. This can be found in Appendix B of the book.
The year the Fellowship crossed is bbbb.
aaaa + bbbb = cccc
Divide cccc by 1000 to get d.ddd.
North co-ordinates: 38.430 - d.ddd = e.eee
West co-ordinates: 51.178 + d.ddd = f.fff
Cache can be found at: N 43° e.eee W 079° f.fff
