Geocache Description:

Come join me as I reach the 3000 milestone at the Ring Of Fire cache (GCJYHZ)!

GCJYHZ Ring of Fire is a 5 star terrain cache so this is not a cache for the faint of heart or small children. The cache is located at a train crash site that occurred during the filming of the 1961 movie, the Ring of Fire that starred David Janssen who likely is best known for playing Dr. Richard Kimble in the TV series of the Fugitive that ran 1963 - 1967. For more info on the cache, please see link.

This cache is a perfect cache for a group of cachers to do. Thus I have decided to do an event which will take place BEFORE heading down to the cache. If you just want to attend the event and not go down into the river gorge to get the cache, thats totally up to you. There are a number of caches on the road up to where the event will be held so you can cache up to the event and head back. Again, its your call.

Heres some info on the event itself:

DATE : SUNDAY MAY 20th

TIME: 12:00 PMish

WHERE: At listed coords near where the Ring of Fire cache is located

WHAT TO BRING: Good shoes/boots, gloves, lunch and/or snacks and a camera.

We will have a "tailgate lunch" prior to heading down to the cache. We will have lunch at the listed coordinates. I will supply beverages. You will need to bring your own food for this one. Sign the log, swap tall geo stories and trackables and then descend to this cache.

If you have been wanting to do the Ring Of Fire cache but not do it alone, then log a will attend and we will do this one as a group!

Will see you there!
