This is a series of 47 caches along the Kerry Ridgeway – a gentle 15 mile route from Cider House Farm near Kerry in Wales, across the border to Bishops Castle in Shropshire. It holds a long tradition as a trade and drovers’ route from Wales to the lowland English markets.
The route has been divided into four sections – all sections can be completed on foot, bike, or horse. Sections 2 and 4 can be done as a drive-by, but please be aware that the roads are narrow and not always in the best state of repair – watch out for potholes, especially if it has been raining. Drive carefully and be considerate where you park.

From the Dog and Duck cottage, the lane climbs a steep hill, but not to it's natural crest - this is occupied by the circular earthwork of an Iron Age hill fort (Caer Din) 2000 years ago a branch of the Ridgeway would have led up to and through the fort's two gateways. Caer Din (Welsh for High defended place) has been partially destroyed by ploughing, but the gorsey remaining ramparts can be viewed from a gateway beside the lane.
