Every town needs a welcome to cache.
A unique chapter in recent Oregon history took place here and the now named Washington Family Ranch. Google Rajneeshpuram to learn how a religious cult practically took over the whole county by numbers alone.
Also there's a old cemetery that's worth exploring up Bennett Rd. Don't blink though, or you might miss Antelope!
Update for 2018: Netflix put out a six part documentary called Wild Wild Country. It's about the Bhagwan, Sheela, and all the craziness that happened way out here. Both sides are very well represented. It shows how everything, due to the insanity of drugs and religious fanaticism, just spiraled out of control. The documentary is very well done and we really enjoyed watching it.
