My Long Road To Ruin #43
Seriously?!?
Yes, it continues...
So after much humming and hawing, I have decided to continue this series.
Here are some things I have learned as the owner of a Power Trail:
1) If you take cache maintenance seriously, lots of walking is in your future.
2) Use a good quality galvanized wire to hang your caches. Otherwise, see point #1.
3) Jam as many log sheets in the container as possible. Otherwise, see point #1.
4) I'm beginning to dislike stamps. They take up too much space, which is why there is point #3 and if you don't heed #3, it will take you back to point #1.
5) Cut and paste log entries are the norm. See point #1
6) You are very much on your own for maintenance. In the last year of this powertrail's existance, I have had one cacher offer to help out, just one and it was greatly appreciated. Any help is appreciated. But, I really don't mind getting out on this trail for any reason. The Mutt really enjoys the walks and so do I, but a little help here there would be awesome. But then, reacquaint yourself with point #1(now that I've thought about it, couple other cachers have helped out too, I just can remember the specifics)
7) Placing caches is addictive. I'm continuing this PT, 'nough said. See point #1
8) After a nice weekend, you can expect anywhere from 100 to 600 e-mails in your Inbox from people out finding your caches. Then go back to point #1.
9) Seriously, just see #1, it says it all.
So, MLRTR continues, I just don't seem to know when to stop. This section of the trail had a tonne of poison ivy along both sides last summer, I don't expect it to be any different this summer. So please, wear the appropriate footwear and clothing to protect yourself.
I have walked this section of the trail so many times, scoping out hiding spots, letting The Littlest Hooligan throw rocks, taking The Mutt for a walk and all the while, talking myself into continuing the MLTRT caches. I finally talked myself into it. So here it is the first of the next section of caches along this trail.
Things to bring:
1). A writing implement. Most of the caches are too small and stuffed with logs to hold anything else.
2). Any TB's you might have and need to move along. #68 is a large cache that will hold lots of TB's so bring 'em along and move 'em along.
Enjoy and Keep Cachin'
