The cache is located down the Hawk Trail near Barkcamp State Park's campground C. There is a nice playground nearby for the kids, an old general store, and parking is only about a hundred yards from the start of the trail.
The trail splits only a few yards past the sign, and choosing the RIGHT path will determine just how long the journey is (choosing the wrong path will only increase your journey by a few hundred yards or so)
The cache is a green, plastic ammo can. When placed it contained an assortment of small toys for the kids, a surprise for the first cacher(s) to find it, a logbook with pen and a TB. Kids are free to take a toy without exchanging, but please only take one toy per child so there are plenty to go around.
*There is no need to trek through the woods. The cache is located just a few feet off the trail and during early spring and fall is visible from the path.
Please let us know if there is a need for maintenance or if the swag is running low. We will occasionally be stopping and replenishing swag and leaving a random 'surprise' for lucky finders.
*There has been some confusion with the location of the cache. There is a letterbox nearby that people have apparently found, the only geocache is the green plastic ammo can. A
