Restin' in Pioneer Memorial Gardens Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The 4 Taylors: Time to put this cache out of it's misery. It seems every year the hiding spot gets some sort of maintenance and / or nature damage.

I'll either open this area to others, or resubmit another in this cemetery at another time. Moving it to another spot would be contrary to the existing D/T ratings

Thanks to all who found this.

Geocache Description:

Another cache in the Restin' series.

Restin' caches take you to some beautiful and some forgotten cemeteries. Some cemeteries are large and lush and well-maintained, others are old, tucked away, not easily spotted, and the final resting spots for the pioneers who built this land. Take your time coming through the cemetery and reflect on those who came before you.

According to a plaque onsite:

"In 1847, this plot of land was converted to Wesleyan Methodist Church as the site of a chapel and burying ground. Here rest many of the early pioneers of this district. This memorial was erected in 1949 by Simcoe Street United Church, Oshawa. In memory of those whose names are inscribed here and of others not so recorded who also sleep here."

Restin' in Pioneer Memorial Gardens is tucked away and quiet but along the busy Bond St. Parking choices are limited.

Approach from the north only, not from the south. BYOP, and night caching is NOT recommended.
