Geocache Description:

This old steam locomotive belongs, according to a plaque affixed to it, to the Hilton Railway Museum, but has now been neglected for so long it is unlikely, very sadly, to ever move again.
This locomotive was the first of its class, 19th class, ordered from Germany in 1928 for branch-line working.
"The year 1928 also saw the introduction of the forerunners of one of the finest class of branch-line locomotives to see service in South Africa, the class 19. Four were ordered from Schwartzkoff of Berlin, Germany, and were numbered 1366 to 1369. They were an outstanding success."
Ref: "Steam Locomotives of the South African Railways, D. F. Holland, Purnell / Cape Town, 1972.
Like many old steam engines of the past it has been abandoned to just rust away.
It is so sad for this once energetic, monster workhorse that kept those ghastly, huge trucks off our roads to die a lonely death.
But have a look at its lost majesty; imagine it in its heyday, the immensity of it, the latent power, full of energy, steam belching out of the pistons, smoke out of its funnel, and the hoot from its whistle. What have we lost ?

After a theft by muggles, the container has been replaced with a magnetic nano.
