How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This hunt will take you on a little used trail that offers nice views of the lake. It is less than a 3/4 mile walk to the camo'ed Costco nut jar that is the cache.

You will be using two of the signs at the lake to guide you to the final location. At the posted coordinates you are looking for the highest sign. Look up.

For WP #2:
In the coordinates below you will see the last two digits have been replaced by letters. Count the number of times each letter appears in the RED words on the sign and substitute that count for the letter. For example if one of the letters is T and T appears 3 times you will substitute a 3 for the T.

N 32° 54.9IU
W 117° 05.5NH

For Ground Zero:
You should now be standing near a sign that displays two arrows. To find the cache location you will use all the words on this sign to determine the letter count. Substitute as before. Note you have to add 1 to the count of one of the letters.

N 32° 54.9QA
W 117° 05.4(L+1)O

Now you will look for a rocky trail which will lead you to the cache. You do not have to leave the trail to find the cache. When done you should return to the lake road as there is no exit from the upper end of the trail without crossing private property posted NO TRESPASSING.

The initial contents of the cache include:
A small token for the FTF
Lots of swag for the kids
A travel coin wanting to move
