There are many things we used to do that we are not allowed anymore - drive a car without a seatbelt, ride a bike without a helmet, own a gun without a licence, shoot in state forests and collect birds eggs.
EGGING - the process of collecting and blowing birds eggs is no longer allowed. Many years ago when Greg was a kid he went egging. He would ride his bike from in town to here to collect eggs. He still has a collection of blown eggs tucked safely away.
The cache is to be found at a swamp that teamed with bird life. It had completely dried up in the most recent drought, and is nowhere near the size it was in the 60's. A fire also burnt through here in 2012 and this area is used as a bit of an illegal rubbish dump.
Please take care with children as the railway is nearby, and discarded rubbish can cause a hazard, as well as the usual summer time reptiles.
