A Weir-ly Good Hide! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to my note I am archiving it.

Guidelines:**You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.**

If you wish to contact me about this cache please use my Email address below my signature and quote the GC number of the cache. Please note this system is not infallible and I may miss any such mail.

Many thanks,

Geocache Description:

This is a small cache on the Lakeside Way (north).

The name of this cache was chosen with my eldest geokid – he really enjoyed the play on words!

From the cache site you get a good view across the Bakethin weir to the other side of the lake. You can see Kielder Column and when the water is low you can see the weir.

This cache can be easily accessed from the Lakeside Way. From Kielder Village, it would take you about 45 minutes to reach the cache site. Alternatively, there are a couple of laybys you could park in that would make the walk shorter. If you are going to park nearer, please be careful not to block forestry roads/farm access.

The cache is a small click and lock tupperware box. When placed, it has a few things for the geokids, and a brand new travel bug, as well as the logbook, a pencil and a pencil sharpener. Please could you make sure you replace the cache and hide it carefully.

Cache placed with kind permission of Northumbrian Water Limited.
