This cache is along the line of the John Kyrle Walk just before the John Kyrle steps down to an old trackway that crosses the walk. It is suggested that following the John Kyrle walk is the best way to get to this cache as it takes you on a short walk through some great Herefordshire scenery.

It is suggested that you should park near the Royal Hotel and then go through the Church Yard (waypoint 1) and then follow the path to the cache. The return leg is to continue following in John Kyrle's footsteps as this walk on along the bluff and back along the river was apparently his favourite walk.
The cache is a small container that can take small trackables and geocoins etc. It contains some bits and bobs, a log book and a pen.
John Kyrle, known as ‘The Man of Ross’, was a 17th Century philanthropist. Born at Dymock, John Kyrle was the son of Walter and Alice Kyrle. He studied Law at Oxford, but did not qualify as a lawyer, and after his father’s death in the 1650’s he inherited the timber-framed house in Ross, opposite the Market House. Here he lived modestly as a bachelor on an income, it is said, of £500 per year.

More details on John Kyrle and the walk can be found here:

There are several sets of steps and kissing gates so buggys and bikes could be a problem. There are alternative routes (from Wilton Car Park) that are buggy accessible right up to the cache.
