Geocache Description:

Volunteer to Help Restore the Urban Forest!

We’re teaming up with Green Redmond to help protect the native plants and species in Viewpoint Park

No experience is necessary, rain or shine! We’ll have all the gloves, tools, and other materials for you, as well as water, coffee, snacks and donuts!

·         Where: Viewpoint Neighborhood Park (18440 NE 24th St Redmond, Washington 98052)

·         Date: Saturday June 30th, 2012

·         When: 8:30AM-12:30PM (The work party itself is 9:00AM-12:00PM)

Well meet at the north end of the park 30 minutes before the work party to trade trackables and so I can give out raffle tickets. Just look for the table and canopy right next to the parking lot. At the end of the event, I will give out prizes which include some geocoins and other geocaching paraphernalia. Donations will be greatly appreciated!

I’m actually leaving for LA this day at 4:30PM so if you have any trackables bound for LA or surrounding areas, feel free to drop them off.

The purpose of this work party is care for new plants that have been freshly planted and to care for existing trees and plants. We’ll be removing blackberry and Ivy leaves and other invasive species. The work party is family-friendly for all ages, although parents of very young children should be prepared to supervise their own children for the duration of the event. Also, this event can help you if you’re missing “V” in your alpha numeric cache name challenge.

Sturdy shoes are recommended and if it has recently rained, it would be very wise to wear boots or other waterproof shoes you wouldn't mind getting muddy. Consider wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants for working in the blackberries.

For parking, please park on the north side of park on 185th Ave NE as there is no parking on 24th St. There is limited parking spaces so please car pool if possible.

Please post a "Will Attend" log with how many people you will be bring as soon as possible so I can tell the main coordinator how many tools and snacks we need. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Please Note:

All ages are welcome, but if you’re under 18 and attending the event without a parent or guardian please bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
