Geocache Description:

Nice location to go for a walk or ride. Easy level bike path around a scenic pond and canal. Many species of birds frequent the area including Canada Goose, Blue Heron, Merganser, Goldeneye, Mallard, Tree Swallow and many more.

The Canada Goose is one of the best known birds in North America. It is found in every province and every state. The huge flocks can be seen flying in ditinctive "V" patterns and during migration can easily travel 1000 kms in one day. They can weigh up to 9Kg and typically have a wingspan of at least 1.5m and live an average of 24 years in the wild. They are extremely protective of thier young and will chase away any threats with a chorus of honks and hisses. They can be seen in these waters at most times of the spring, summer and fall.
