Geocache Description:

In December of 2005, the Upper Taum Sauk Reservoir failed, sending 1.5 billion gallons of water rushing down the mountain into Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park. The power of the water, which was moving at 150,000 cubic feet per second, scoured away trees, soil and layers of rock, leaving an impressive scour channel. Geologists from all over the world have flocked to this site to see millions of years of Earth's history that has never been seen before. All the rock was transported down the hill, and as the water slowed, large boulders were left behind and dropped in this field (which was once forest).

This cache is located off a flat, gravel trail that winds through the boulder field. This is easily accessible, but very visible to the public, so stealth is encouraged.
