Geocache Description:

Nice easy walk around scenic pond and canal.

The Muskrat is native to North America but now has healthy populations all over the world. It derives its name from having "musk' glands on its face and being "rat" like in appearance. It is one of the few semi-aquatic rodents in the world and can remain submerged for up to 15 mins. It has large back feet that it uses as paddles and two layers of fur which keep the muskrat relatively dry. These animals are very adaptable and are very comfortable in newer habitats such as these waters. They can be seen in this area at most times of the spring summer and fall. Cache is a small camoed container with a log book, pencil and tradeables. Congrats to K5$ents on the FTF on a rainy morning.
