Geocache Description:

Thomond Park is the home ground of Munster Rugby, one of the most successful and best supported rugby clubs in the world. Thomond Park is world renowned for its unique and exciting atmosphere. The Munster crowd is famous for its noise during play and its tradition of showing respect with absolute silence when a kicker is kicking for goal.
During a match, the home fans can be heard singing the classic Munster Rugby Anthem "The Fields Of Athenry".
It was at Thomond park that Munster celebrated their famous 12–0 victory over the New Zealand All Blacks in 1978.
Following the introduction of the professional era in Rugby the stadium underwent a major re-development and in autumn 2008 the new 27,000 capacity stadium was opened. Visible from areas throughout the city, two sweeping white arches are one of the defining features of the stadium as well as the concourse outside of the new East Stand. The new stadium design was well received and won the Public Choice Award for 2009 from the Irish Architecture Foundation.
The cache is located outside the venue so you won’t need a ticket!
