Way Down South.... in the Kingdom of Bahrain
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Welcome...
You're going to the bottom of Bahrain. It is far, but fear not. The natives are friendly and no translator is required.
You'll find Pt. 1 of this cache near end of the island at a comfortable resting place with an impressive view of Bahrain’s inland sea (of sand).
Pt. 2 is an easy drive from here. It has a gorgeous view as evening twilight arrives. It is a sandy and picnic-able place too (though there are no services) should you choose to linger.
For the record, Pt. II is as Way Down South... as it gets here in Bahrain. As an added benefit there is a new park and grab within 1/2km of Pt. II, the Primary Cache.

Note: As we've traversed this more desolate part of the Kingdom to do some future-cache snooping we exited at Bridges 4 & 5. The uniformed and plain clothes BDF personnel we met there asked us to move along and we haven't returned.

The road to Durat Al-Bahrain is meticulously fenced and landscaped. You won't need to climb over or through any of it when heading for GZ. Ready cache access is assured if you keep your eyes peeled as you cruise inbound.
If you find yourself at the end of the road and you’re heading down the winding, well manicured road to Durat you'll find it leads to a gated community. There is a public access turnaround opportunity just PRIOR TO the guardhouse once you're down that lovely road. There is also a convenient turn-out as you depart the gate area where you can take in the lovely view. This resort development is a handsome addition to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Literally.
These caches are not far from private property. Evidence suggests there are perimeter security patrols due the high volume of construction and a military presence in the area (the BDF base is out here, but they keep to themselves behind their fences) and there are mischievous muggles. Be a wise GCer and don’t draw undo attention to yourself as you’re near the caches. You are able to cleverly park your automobile to mask your GCing activities at both sites.
Pt. 1: The Initial Cache: You seek a round metal container.
Pt. 2: The Final cache: You seek an angular, clear plastic cache container [filled with fun!!!!] at this location...
Please carefully return each cache into its concealed location before pressing on with your day. Remember, out here away from the city you are never completely alone. So keep your eyes up and a clever diversion going as you do your GCing business.
Thank you and have some GC fun out at the end of the road~!

Because you should know:
If you’re taking on this south-end cache you might be excited to know that only a few years ago you may have found the road to Durat to be the road to Atlantis beneath 3-5m of sea water SE of the Kingdom. But times have changed and the Kingdom is growing daily… at both ends and on the east side. Bahrain is on a massive sea floor reclamation project as can be evidenced by visiting Google Earth and checking out pics of the cache area since 2003.
Fun Fact: In 2007, the Kingdom of Bahrain consisted of a group of 33 islands (6 inhabited). It comprised a total area of 620 km² (239 sq mi) with the main island extending 48 km (30 mi) n–s and 19 km (12 mi) e–w.
Comparatively; The Kingdom is slightly less than 65% the size of Indianapolis, Indiana (of 'Indy 500' fame). Its true! Ask anyone.' [Indianapolis: 963.5 km² (372 sq miles)]
