A traditional ammo can that invites you to a beautiful point along Fall Creek.
I've been looking for spots to place larger caches in Ithaca and have had my eye on this trail for some time. The trail will bring you to a 'gorge'ous setting along Fall Creek and will satisfy part of the requirement for the GC1NTJ6 Ithaca *is* Gorge-ous Challenge: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e4573684-2df8-46f3-b40e-51fbc4c12c6a The walk to the cache involves slate steps which will often be wet and slippery. Note the coords for parking and trailhead, and please respect all signage: stay on the trail and, despite the tempting waters, do not swim here. As you will see, there are sobering reminders of the force behind the beauty of Fall Creek - the water is strong and dangerous. The trail is closed and the cache inaccessible during the winter; any finds during that time will be deleted. Coords down in the gorge are very jumpy - so follow your geosense above all. Cache is an ammo can filled with nicer swag, with a Buffalo Head Nickel for the FTF.
