Part of the "Giant Series", one of some lesser known state lands in the Deposit area, this cache is located in Michigan Hill State Forest, just outside of Deposit, NY. It is a moderate hike (hidden by our little ones) on a logging trail leading to an overgrown/unmaintained trail. Here as in most area forests, storms at the end of this summer left a “Giant Mess”.
This is a state forest outside of Deposit, NY that is unknown to many locals. It is currently being logged and the roads can be rough at times. We'd recommend traveling in from route 8 (North of Deposit) and taking Michigan Hollow road to the state land parking area. Once parked at the area, walk on the logging trail until the "Y" and bear to the left on the old trail. (Or…. bushwhack straight from the parking area and save some steps but deal with the returning prickers)
