Rzeźba z kapliczki przydrożnej w Stromcu - św. Jan Nepomucen XIX w. wpisany do rejestru zabytków.
Święty Jan Nepomucen żył i umarł w czeskiej Pradze. Jednakże Nepomucen jest bardzo popularny na polskiej wsi. Jego figury stawiano najczęściej na brzegach rzek. Legenda mówi, że krewki król, wietrzący zdradę żony, rozkazał go torturować, a potem utopić w Wełtawie za odmowę złamania tajemnicy spowiedzi. To dlatego Jan Nepomucen został głównie patronem zdradzających żon (zapewniając im bezkarność). Ale także mostów i przepraw, orędownikiem tonących oraz tych, którym zagraża powódź. Wierzono, że jego obecność na granicy pola chroni je przed gradobiciem. Nepomucena ukazywano zawsze w stroju duchownego, z biretem kanonika na głowie, a jego atrybuty to aureola z pięciu gwiazd, książka, palma męczeńska, list, most lub ryba - potrójny symbol wody, wiary i milczenia.
Drewniana kapliczka domkowa, zapewne na miejscu starszej, stoi nieopodal kościoła i mostku. Wewnątrz drewniana figura Jana Nepomucena z resztkami malowania, z uszkodzonymi rękami i krzyżem, w czapce. Datowana na XIX w., została wpisana do wojewódzkiego rejestru zabytków. Rzeźba jest po konserwacji, otrzymała dodatkową pleksiglasową osłonę.

St. John of Nepomuk. This saint lived and died in Prague. However, Nepomuk is very popular in the Polish countryside. His statue erected on the banks of most rivers. Legend says that the irascible king, his wife sniffing treachery, ordered him tortured and then drowned in the Vltava river for refusing to break the seal of confession. That's why John of Nepomuk is the patron saint of betraying their wives mostly (providing them with impunity). But the bridges and crossings, advocate drowning and those threatened by flooding. It was believed that his presence at the field to protect it from hail. Nepomuk is always depicted dressed as a priest, a canon of the cap on his head, and its attributes is a halo of five stars, the book, the martyr's palm, a letter, a bridge or fish - triple symbol of water, faith and silence. The wooden chapel houses, probably the site of an older, stands near the church and the bridge. Inside the wooden statue of John of Nepomuk with the remnants of paint, with broken arms and a cross in his cap. Dated to the nineteenth century, was entered in the provincial register of monuments. The sculpture is on the maintenance of the supplemental Plexiglas.
