Geocache Description:

A relatively easy find which can be found on a scenic hike in a town forest.

Carlstrom Memorial Forest (74 acres) was donated by Mr. Carl F. Carlstrom in memory of his wife, Mary C. Carlstrom. To learn more, go here. A map of the forest can be found here.

Boy Scout Troop 114 of Shrewsbury, MA recently cleared and marked the trails, as well as creating a new parking area. The effort was led by Eagle Scout Conner Lyons as his Eagle Scout service project. This involved hundreds of man-hours as well as fundraising to pay for the project. This forest is managed by the New England Forestry Foundation.

Below is a map of the trails. The parking area (additional waypoint) is at the North end of the (yellow) Gulf Trail.

I suggest taking the right turn onto Carlstrom's Loop Trail (red). There is an wooden arrow (see photo below) pointing the way, at the additional waypoint listed below. After that, I suggest continuing on the trail to complete the loop (take left turns onto blue State Trail and back onto yellow Gulf Trail) to bring you back to the parking area.
