Courtney Lake is the first lake to open for this fishing season. It is a trophy lake stocked with rainbow trout. You can take out only one fish per day of at least 50 cms, using a single barbless hook. There is a small parking area and some space where you can picnic.
If approaching the lake from the south and west on Hwy 97C, you have to turn left across oncoming traffic. Be very careful as traffic on the highway travels very fast. Take the centre lane once you see the sign for Corbett Lake B&B. The entrance to Courtney is a little after that -- you will see the back of a stop sign on the left indicating that there is a minor road connecting to the highway, but the road dips rapidly towards the lake and is hard to see. This road leads to the parking spot.
If approaching from the Kelowna direction, the road to the lake is just 6 kms from the junction of Hwy 97C and Hwy 5A (Aspen Grove junction). You will see the lake on your right. Look out for that stop sign, which is hard to see.
Please be careful of muggles when retrieving and replacing the cache.
CONGRATULATIONS, ROCKISLANDER, FOR BEING FTF.
