"Lost Place" - Festplatz Weiden Traditional Cache

Ein wahrer "Lost Place" in Weiden.
Dieser Cache soll an den "alten" Festplatz in Weiden erinnern.

Für die Weidener war es ein Trauerspiel in unzählbaren Akten zwischen der Stadt Weiden und der Bürgerbräu. Der hier auffindbare Festplatz wurde von der Bürgerbräu an die Stadt Weiden verpachtet. Diese wollte den Festplatz kaufen, aber nach schier endlos dauernden Verhandlungen und Medienrummel wurde letztlich keine Einigung erzielt.
Jetzt wurde das erste Frühlingsfest an einem Notplatz an der Mehrzweckhalle abgehalten, was den Flair des alten Festplatzes nicht annähernd das Wasser reichen konnte.
Die Bezeichnung "Lost Place" hat somit hier eine mehrfache Bedeutung:
- Die Bürger und die Stadt haben diesen Platz für sich verloren,
- diese freie Fläche ist jetzt wirklich verlorener Platz und
- letztendlich erfüllt es auch den Charakter eines typischen "Lost Place"-Caches.

A true "Lost Place" in Weiden.
This Cache should remind of the "old" fairground in Weiden.

For the locals it was a tragedy in countless acts between the city of Weiden and the Bürgerbräu. The here findable fairground was let for rent from the Bürgerbräu to the city of Weiden. The administration wanted to buy the ground, but after almost endless negotiations and hype, no agreement was finally reached.
Now the first "Frühlingsfest" has taken place on a distress ground nearby the multi-purpose hall, which could not be able to hold a candle to the atmosphere of the old fairground.
The labeling "Lost Place" has a mutiple meaning at this time:
- The citizens and the city have lost this place for themselves,
- the free space is now really wasted space and
- finally it has the typical character of a "Lost Place"-cache.
