Attention geocaching community. The government needs your assistance. Cyberterrorists have compromised the old ARPANET feed to a decommissioned missile silo found near the coordinates provided. We have detected a countdown in progress, but until we get a team of specialists in the area, we are unable to tell if the missile silo is still active, and if it is, when the launch may take place. This is where you come in.
Proceed to the provided coordinates where you will find a hidden launch keypad. You will need to enter a specific code to disarm the missile. Since we cannot risk publishing the disarm code online, you will be required to use your wit and tracking skills to decipher a set of clues already found on location. Once the code is entered, the missile launch will be disarmed and the keypad will open to reveal important documents. Once finished at the site, please re-enter the code to latch the keypad. Note: You have been given permission to enter this area to complete the mission. Good luck. The entire country is depending on you. **************************************************** UPDATE: Congratulations and thank you to the Shadow Chasers for being the first the locate and disarm the system. We appreciate your service. Unfortunately, U.S. Cyber Command has detected the presence of a recursive feedback virus that has the capacity to reactivate the missile countdown. We are working hard to remedy the situation, but until we come up with a solution, we can only ask for the help of the Geocaching community. Please continue the enter the disarm code when at all possible to stave off potential disaster. Again, we thank you for your assistance. **************************************************** - Geocachers are welcome to enter the property even "after hours." During this time, you will be required to park at the gate, and walk a bit further than normal. - If the buttons on the keypad feel tight and or the release switch is not cooperating, you may need to flip the "reset" button, or even resort to government-regulation "jiggling" of the door to help loosen the mechanism. - We are pleased to offer this as a Cache to Eagle hide for the Mid-American Council - Wagon Wheel District to help highlight a Troop 351 Eagle Project. Very near to the final hint / key word, you will find a case containing unserviceable American flags which serves as a constant reminder of the respect they deserve.
